The First Principle of Perpetual Traffic

Where to begin? There’s just so darned much …
To create a consistent, long-term money-making operation online, you need
- a product or service to sell
- a website
- a steady stream of lots of eyeballs
#1 is up to you. Net Traffic Machine will focus on #s 2 & 3 above … probably 70% on #3.
So let’s start there today. How do you get those eyeballs? Even more important, how do you get the right eyeballs? And how do you keep them coming back again and again and again?
Those questions seem so simple. Too bad the answers aren’t.
You start with 2 choices:
- Buy traffic
- Generate your own traffic
Whoops! Both of those options are missing a very important word.
“targeted”
Unfortunately, a lot of people try to build their online empire without paying proper respect to that word. So here is the very first principle which, if you don’t follow it, your online income will probably never surpass your online outgo:
1. Know exactly who your market is.
And the second principle is as important as the first … but if you do the first, you are much more likely to then do the second:
2. Know where to find your market.
For now, let’s just focus on knowing your market. If you know who they are, then you can target those people. So who are they? Age? Gender? Income? Location? Motivations? Hobbies? What do they read? What do they talk about? What questions do they have? Occupations? Background?
You must be able to describe your market. You need to know their demographics. If you can’t answer FOR SURE the questions in the preceding paragraph, you need to talk to someone in your business who can answer them for you.
You need to find where your best prospects hang out. If you can’t describe them, then you’ll have no idea what you’re looking for … and that will not end well.
So the First Principle of Perpetual Traffic is:
Know exactly who your market is.
I appreciate you!
